I couldn’t help looking at the content of the story and wondering who wrote the story for the President?  The question comes up do they just pole American voters and find out what they want to hear?  Speaking to a convention of veterans words like “Nazis” and “Communists” win support in a very unpopular war. 

Veterans and most Americans have a very clear picture in their mind when you say words like “Nazis and Communists” they get a picture of soldiers in uniforms with weapons displayed in plan view.  The words “Nazis and Communists” don’t bring images of the mother taking her children to the market or the citizen walking to work or the truck driver or the immigrant farm worker.  But that is what our military is dealing with you can’t tell the soldiers from the civilians.  This is not “Nazis and Communists” it is not military against military, it is a group of thugs that are trying to kill every day citizens, women and children.

While I would agree only with the President in saying, “If we just up and leave it would be disastrous” I must highly disagree with his terminology and his plan as it exists now.  Do we even know what his plan is?  The only time we have heard the President say what he is thinking is when he forgets a microphone is on. 

I can’t tell you what the answer to Iraq is, or Lebanon and Israel; I don’t have all the facts.  But I know how to speak the truth and I know how to think for myself, what would happen if people, (Not Professional Politicians… Okay Politicians too), what would happen if they started speaking the truth, tell about their plans, and there dreams, instead of speaking what someone else wrote after checking the sound bits to see how it plays in the poles.  How about if they spoke from the heart, and told you what they were trying to do? 

Sure not everyone would agree, but that is America, and the right to freedom.  This much I know, we are not fighting NAZIS and COMMUNISTS, it seems that we are fighting politicians and that is wrong.  They work for the American people and if they are not doing their job then we should vote them out of office and elect someone else.  If you don’t vote then don’t complain. Each vote counts even if to say I want to make a difference, I still care about America and the American way of life.

They say that only 25 to 30% of all registered voters vote.  How bad does it have to get before the rest of the voters start voting, more importantly what would happen if they did?

The News Brings it to Life 500 Million Seized

I have been hinting around about it.  What business does 40 Billion Dollars per year and does not file a tax return?

Leave it to the news in the San Francisco Bay Area to bring it to life.  Authorities seize 500 Million Dollars in Marijuana inMarin
County, and that is just in a small county in the SF Bay Area.  How much is being sold Nation Wide?

You now are beginning to see the much larger picture.  Our political scene does not want to recognize this phenomenal income stream.  Our Politicians say, “We have problems in Iraq, and the
Middle East,” and “We have problems in our school system,” and “We have problems, problems, problems…”

But did you notice that they rarely talk about the Deficit or how to fix it? Bottom line is we could fix all the problems with more money, then why in Marijuana still illegal?

If the 40 Billion Dollars were sold by individuals who were Self Employed they would pay 15.3% to Social Security, that would go a long way to fixing the Social Security short fall they keep talking about.  A Federal Excise Tax on Marijuana Sales of 5% ear marked for use only on the principal of the deficit only may still take a few years to eliminate it but it would stop growing and start shrinking.

Medical Marijuana is legal in, what, 10 or 13 states now?  Yes I think it would be nice if there were not any drugs on any street in
America.  Reality is it is here and it is not getting any smaller, and why should it? It is TAX FREE. 

It is time for the voters to elect someone to President of the
United States that is a business man and not a Politician.  In fact it is time to fire them all an elect non professional Politicians.  After all they work; okay I use the word work loosely, for YOU.  How long will you put up with them not doing their job? You voted them into office and you can vote them OUT.

Pay Your 30% You don’t have a choice or Do You?

The last time I wrote titled “FOR THE PEOPLE WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT.”I left with some thoughts a couple of questions, written below.

What is going on in Washington DC? There is a good question, one side is trying to find someone on the other side to investigate, and the other side is very busy saying not me. 

So my question becomes, while they are busy arguing back and forth between each other and the President is still saying I made the right decision just wait and see. Meanwhile the whole
Middle East goes up in flames. Is anyone taking care of the business of running the country FOR THE PEOPLE?  

Here is something to think about why you wait for the next edition of this Blog. Can you figure out which industry has more than 40 Billion Dollars in sales ever year and never files a tax return? Aren’t you glad that you can afford to pay their tax for them?

You know as I travel in many different circles I hear a lot about taxes, fair tax bills, flat tax, tobacco tax, marriage penalty tax, and so on.Why is it that we never or almost never hear about the Federal Deficit?  Anyone told you how much of your taxes go just to pay this one bill, “call it our mortgage payment”. 

Most people whether they own a house or not understand mortgage payment it is simple you pay ever month for your house and the bank lets you stay.  Like the mortgage payment the US pays interest and principle on the Deficit or the US Mortgage payment, did anyone tell you how much it is? 

The only thing from politicians that you ever see is some comment that the deficit is took large and it was caused by the other party.  That is so much bull, no one party caused the deficit, and no one dares talk about it the closest that anyone came was Bush in his second inaugural address when he said, “In five years we will reduce the deficit by 1/3.”  Do the math 2^nd term 4 years, can’t hold another political office so the year after he gets out of office no one will say oh look he did not do it.

Let’s talk about the Federal Deficit.  Fix that and you solve most all problems, or at least you have the money to solve them with   YOUR SHARE OF THAT PAYMENT IS 30% OF YOUR INCOME TAX.  So think about it, no deficit, drop your income tax by 30% you think that might get the economy going again big time.  While you are thinking of that let me again leave you with the question I asked the first time and so far no one has got the right answer. Send a comment if you think that you know the answer and I will put it up for the world to see.  Mean while keep on paying there tax.

I am Stewart Burch, for the last twenty plus years I have been quietly sitting on the sidelines doing taxes for people and helping them with their problems with the IRS and Franchise Tax Board in California. The only thing that I am certain about coming from Washington DC is that before the end of the year they will change all the tax laws and smile as though to say let’s see you figure this out.

 

I will spend no less than 80 hours in study figuring out how to apply these new rules that they just came up with. BUT THE WORST THING IS ULTIMATELY YOU THE PEOPLE WILL PAY MORE TAX.

 

“That can’t be right,” you say? Because they have said “NO NEW TAX” While that may be true, they did not say, we will not raise the Alternative Minimum Tax (“AMT”) rate, and they did not say, we will leave all of your deductions in place. So if they take away deduction your taxable income goes up, and your tax goes up, but remember they did not raise the rate.

 

“AMT” Alternative Minimum Tax, is very badly named first of all, it is in fact a Mandatory Maximum Tax. If you are real interested in how this works go to the IRS Web site and get Form 6251 with instructions and take a look.

 

Every year I am asked by different Media sources “What are the changes?” and from clients, “Am I getting a refund?” Between Jan and April it seems that the main topic is Taxes.
